Students from Sarasota Military Academy came and learned about C. elegans as a model for animal biology.
Congratulations to Emily Pollack from American Heritage High School for a Silver Metal at I-SWEEP5/22/2017 "A comparative analysis of fluensulfone as a nematicide on Caenorhabditis elegans SKN-1 pathway mutant in vivo RNA interference as a solution for nematicidal resistance"
Emily's project on genetic mechanisms of nematicide drug resistance was mentored in part by Dr. Choe. Nemtaticides are an essential tool for crop production and Emily's worm begins to define how nematodes can become resistant. The 2017 International Sustainable World (Engineering Energy Environment) Project olympiad (I-SWEEP) was held in Houston, TX. Congratulations to Claudia Consalvo on winning a thesis award and for graduation with high honors5/3/2017 |
